Google reader will be dead tomorrow.

Just a quick reminder that as of tomorrow  Google Reader will be gone!

For months I had heard rumors of GFC closing down. I now know that this is indeed true which make me very very sad. The only other alternative I know of  is for you to follow me on Bloglovin which I don't particularly love or  use but i'm going to have to suck it up and get used to it. So please, please, please go and follow me because right now, I have slightly more followers on GFC than Bloglovin. Thank you!!

On another note, I have two mock exams next week :( But I will try my  to post something during the week. Have a lovely evening!

P.S Nothing is centering! It's annoying me!

Style Icons - Olivia Grace.

Olivia is such a cool cat.
Many of you may know her from her wonderful blog What Olivia Did... Ever since I discovered her website in December 2012, I can't get enough of her. She is one of my favorite Style Icons to date, and I am slowly creating a wardrobe to match hers. So, sit down, relax and prepare to drown in a sea of pictures.

Olivia Grace has the best selection of dresses I have ever seen. And what I love the most, is that every single dress is different.  I love, love, love the lace detail on the shoulders of the first dress and that red is absolutely beautiful. I'm fast realising that red is becoming one of my favorite colours. Another thing is that she pairs everything with the best and simplest of accessories.

How gorgeous is Olivia in jeans? She looks fab in everyone of these looks. Often pairing jeans with a simple jumper or top and boots means she looks comfy and chic. My favorite of the outfits is the second one; I so want that coat and bag. The coat looks super soft and the bag is a lovely burgundy.

From the skirts that I've seen on her, there is always a unique print. I loooove the banana's on the above outfit. And the shades of blue and black on the first one. Olivia always makes great choices.

Okay this is a bit of a random category; two pairs of trousers, dungarees and shorts, but I thought I'd through them together anyway. Print trousers are awesome; they make everything look so funky and I definitely need to get a pair of my own. In fact, I've been eyeing up these ones from Asos for a while now. They're next! next! next! on my to buy list. I also looove the chunky heels in the second image. If I attempted to wear dungarees, I'd look ridiculous. Mega jealousy. That Kimono! At the beginning of this week, after seeing Selena Gomez in one, I have acutely become obsessed with them. I found out that Selena's was from Zara so if I get the money, this will also jump in my shopping basket. And might I add that Olivia has a wonderful collection of sunglasses?

Now to create my own Olivia Grace inspired look!

Dress, Asos, Sunglasses, Topshop, Shoes, Asos

Style Icons seem to be my most popular posts! They have the most hits a week and I think that's great, it really puts a smile on my face :) If there is anyone that you think could also fit into my series, then comment below.

Today, I hit over 1000 pageviews!! Thank you to all that I have stopped by.

'The book I was reading turned out to be crack'

Right, so I mentioned a few weeks ago in this post about a book called Starcrossed. I said I would save all the excitement for a separate post so here it is. This may be a fairly long post so grab a cup of tea, a pack of biscuits and enjoy!

I have loved reading for as long as I can remember. The second I got my hands on a book, I wouldn't stop until the words where swimming on the page or my hands where aching. There is nothing I love more than to curl up with a book under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. Interrupt me while I am doing this and prepare to be yelled at. When people ask me how good a book is, I find it difficult enough to describe. So when people how a book makes me feel, forming together a group of coherent words to answer the question feels, at times, to be an extremely impossible task to complete. When I find the perfect book, my whole world stops. I can no longer do anything productive. I feel as if nothing else in the world matters and that nothing and no one can ruin my day as long as I have that book to get back to. The book is on my mind 24 hours a day 7 days a week. These kinda books are rare.

And then I found Starcrossed
I own none of the above images. Copyright to original authors.

This is the blurb for the first one: When shy, awkward Helen Hamilton sees Lucas Delos for the first time she thinks two things: the first, that he is the most ridiculously beautiful boy she has seen in her life; the second, that she wants to kill him with her bare hands. With an ancient curse making them loathe one another, Lucas and Helen have to keep their distance. But sometimes love is stronger than hate, and not even the gods themselves can prevent what will happen ...

I feel like I should mention that my favorite book prior to this was The Percy Jackson Series also a book on demi-gods. Since I've read these two series I have obtained an obsessive fixation on Greek Mythology.  Right back to Starcrossed.  Like I mentioned earlier, I find it difficult to describe how good a book is so I think the easiest way to do this is to list everything that I love about it.

1. Helen. She is the type of main character that I just love. Timid and unbeknownst to how beautiful she is but still makes the right decisions. I hate main characters that so obviously make the wrong decisions. This is going to sound uber creepy but I loved watching her grow up from book to book. I felt like a mother watching her child turn into a responsible adult. I'm such a weirdo ha ha ha. She grew from someone who couldn't even use her own powers to practically a Goddess (the title of the last book).

2. The romance. It was the perfect amount. You can get novels that have to much, you can have some that have to little. The first one was a little chocked full of it but I still loved it. It was a little bit like Romeo and Juliet, before you groan, no they don't both kill themselves after knowing each other for nothing more than a couple of days. This love slowly progressed, in fact they literally hated the sight of each other to begin with. And no romance novel is a romance novel unless there is some kind of love triangle, just wait for the second one, Dreamless.
3. The hotties. One of the things I love most about reading is that I feel as if I am in control. I can picture a character however I want to simply on the basis of the authors description. And goodness gracious me, where there hotties in this book or what?! Lucas made me swoon, Hector made me blush and Orion made my legs feel like jelly. Many of you may think I'm absolutely crazy but books are very real to me haha.
4. The emotions. They were so raw and so real. This series made me laugh, it made me nervous, it filled me with fear, joy, anticipation, I even cried. Its an emotional rollercoster that I'm on with each character every step of the way.
5. Josephine Angelini. I just want to thank her for writing such a magnificent series. I've not read anything else by her but I need to now. She writes wonderfully and I cannot even fault to her.

That ends the list! I'm sure there is a few things I've forgotten but this will have to do.

Going back to reading, I don't just stop at paper back. Wattpad is a brilliant online website where you can discover millions of stories by mainly amateurs to suit your taste. I love this website, I really do. And my love for books and reading continues on. I've started writing since I was about 11 years old. I remember the first 'novel' I wrote called Falling Down, it was so bad! Overtime, I wrote loads of little unfinished projects but my longest running one was Just Another Blonde Geek which totaled nine chapters (it was really only just over 90 pages on word lol). But as of now, I am writing two novels. The first is a secret little thing I'm keeping to myself, the other, Prostatis, I've been planning for years but only just started writing. I've even posted the first chapter on Wattpad!

Just in case you didn't catch it yet, I love reading. I always have and always will!

I have a Goodreads account if you want to check out the books that I have read or add me as a friend. Thanks for taking the time to read this! Do you love reading? Greek Mythology? Starcrossed? If so, leave a comment below so we can talk for hours and be friends forever x

A while ago, I felt like giving shortbread a try. The only other biscuits I have baked are cookies so I thought it would be interesting. I went online a found this very simple recipe from the BBC but just to be extra, I'm going to give a slightly more detailed version with pictures.

Let me start by saying double the ingredients if you are looking to making more than 13 shortbread's. The website said the recipe would make 20-24 and it did not. So I'm going to write them doubled but when I made them they weren't doubled.

 250g Butter
110g Caster sugar
360g Plain flour

Start by preheating your oven to 190C.

Then beat the sugar and butter together until its smooth (I don't know why I didn't realise at this point just how small my mixture was)

Then stir in the flour until the mixture is smooth; I rolled it into a ball because it was fun :)

Place the ball onto a clean work surface and then roll out until it's about one cm thick.

Cut into rectangles or fingers or whatever your shape preference. You could even use cutters. I used a fork to add little details.

Then place into a greased or lined baking tray.

Sprinkle with icing sugar and then place in the fridge for twenty minutes. After, pop it into the oven for 15-20 minutes and then hey presto, they're done!

Leave on a wire rack to cool and then serve. Don't leave them to cool for to long or they will go hard! Best eaten hot, hot, hot.

Mine weren't particularly golden or crumbly but tasty none the less!

What biscuits have you baked?

Everyday Mascara & Eyeliner.

I apologise in advance for the dodgy pictures and lack of posts this week. Moving along, I'm not a person who wears a lot makeup, I hardly wear any to be frank. For me, it's only ever to parties or if I am going out somewhere nice. But once in a while, I feel to throw on a little bit of mascara and eyeliner to hide how tired I look before I go to school. So this is my sort of everyday eye make up.

The eyeliner I use is the Barry M Kohl Eye Pencil  which I know you can buy anywhere that they sell Barry M products (Boots, Superdrug, Topshop, even a large Tesco outlet) for just £2.99. I have only ever used two pencil eyeliners in the past which I wasn't completely happy with but I love this one. So much that I've bought it twice. It is very easy to apply and I think I may just go and but it in different colours. Its not the best, but is good value for price. I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for something long lasting as a down side is that it will only stay on for a couple of hours.

The mascara I use is the Rimmel London Extra Super Lash which you can actually but from Boots, (I couldn't find the Boots link so I put one for Asos) for £4.99. Prior to this mascara, I had used one from Max Factor which was horribly clumpy and no good. But I absolutely look this one because it gives you long eyelashes minus the clumps. For extra length, I sometimes wear two layers.

One layer.

What mascaras and eyeliners do you use on a daily basis? Do you know any long lasting eye liner pencils?

Jewelry Box.

I popped down to my Aunts house in Surrey this weekend to say hi when I came across this cute little jewelry box in her room that was practically untouched. It was love at first sight. I asked her for it, she said I could take it and I made a little squealing noise when I got it home. I sat down for ages deciding what pieces of my jewelry I wanted to put in there. I have no idea why I was so excited about it! I also couldn't stop taking pictures. The pictures about were tough to pick; there was a pretty good line up!
